The Western Canadian Dairy Seminar (WCDS) is being hosted in Red Deer, Alberta from March 7 – 10, 2017. We are celebrating “35 Years of Dairying: Knowledge, Pride and Passion”.
You can view the program and register online at http://www.wcds.ca
The program kicks off on March 7 with your choice of either a tour of three local progressive and innovative dairy farms, a Precision Dairy Monitoring Workshop (open to all) or a Hoof Trimming Workshop (for producers). A wide range of topics will be covered during the main sessions including nutrition, reproduction, welfare, farm management, and technology as well as broad issues facing today’s industry.

• John Kennelly (University of Alberta) will be discussing the Canadian Dairy Industry: Past, Present and Future
• Jeffrey Bewley (University of Kentucky) will be exploring the potential of precision dairy tools including estrus detection systems
• Lance Baumgard (Iowa State University) will be explaining how to feed cows to boost their immune system, and
